This 1968 Peugeot 206 SW is 16+ years old, which moves it into project / collectible / hand-me-down territory. Pricing in this band has more to do with condition and rarity than age. Inspect for rust, frame integrity, and electrical wear — none of which the 1968 fuel-economy spec sheet will warn you about.

This listing is below the typical mileage band for a 1968 Peugeot — most 206 SWs of this age show closer to 15-20k km/year. Low mileage is a price-supporting attribute but verify the odometer hasn't been rolled back (check service records and inspection-station logs in Argentina).

Mendoza, Mendoza is a mid-sized Argentina market for cars. You'll usually find a handful of comparable Peugeot 206 SW listings — meaning price discipline matters but buyer reach is wider than a major hub. Photograph the 206 SW in daylight and price within 3-5% of comparable active listings.

For an older Peugeot 206 SW like this one, prioritize: timing belt/chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Insurance in Argentina is a private-carrier market. For a premium-tier Peugeot 206 SW in Mendoza, expect 4-8% of the market value per year for full coverage. The biggest cost-driver is the city — Mendoza rates can be meaningfully higher than rural Mendoza for the same Peugeot.

In Mendoza, Argentina, you'll need the original title signed over by the seller, a bill of sale, a current emissions / safety inspection where required by Mendoza, a VIN-match verification, and proof of insurance to take possession. The state DMV or motor-vehicle agency processes the transfer; many do it the same day.

This is a private-seller listing — an individual selling their own Peugeot 206 SW, not a business. Treat it like any other person-to-person purchase: meet in a safe public location (a police-station parking lot is the gold standard), verify the seller's ID against the title before any money changes hands, and never wire funds before seeing the vehicle in person.

A 16+ year-old Peugeot 206 SW is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.

If the seller still owes a bank or finance company against this Peugeot 206 SW, the title has a lien recorded. Do NOT hand over funds before the lien is released. Standard practice in Argentina: buyer's bank pays the lender directly for the loan balance and pays the seller for the remainder, with the lender's release letter arriving alongside the new title. Verify the lien status through whatever public registry Argentina uses (DMV / DETRAN / Registro Civil / etc.) before agreeing to a purchase price.
