For an older Volkswagen Beetle like this one, prioritize: timing belt / chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Insurance in Mexico is a private-carrier market. For a premium-tier Volkswagen Beetle in Mexico City, expect 4-8% of the market value per year for full coverage. The biggest cost-driver is the city — Mexico City rates can be meaningfully higher than rural Mexico City for the same Volkswagen.

Gasoline pricing in Mexico is moderate. For this Beetle, expect monthly fuel cost to scale roughly with kilometers driven and the manufacturer-rated economy minus 10-15% for real-world conditions.

In Mexico City, Mexico, you'll need the factura (original sales invoice), the most recent tenencia / refrendo receipt, the predial-update letter for the seller's address, a clean credit-bureau check, and the seller's ID. Tenencia transfers vary by state — Mexico City and CDMX-suburbs charge differently.

This is a private-seller listing — an individual selling their own Volkswagen Beetle, not a business. Treat it like any other person-to-person purchase: meet in a safe public location (a police-station parking lot is the gold standard), verify the seller's ID against the title before any money changes hands, and never wire funds before seeing the vehicle in person.

A 16+ year-old Volkswagen Beetle is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.
