Kia Soul • 2010 • 122,000 km • $ 8400 USD

This 2010 Kia Soul is 16+ years old, which moves it into project / collectible / hand-me-down territory. Pricing in this band has more to do with condition and rarity than age. Inspect for rust, frame integrity, and electrical wear — none of which the 2010 fuel-economy spec sheet will warn you about.

This listing is below the typical mileage band for a 2010 Kia — most Souls of this age show closer to 15-20k km/year. Low mileage is a price-supporting attribute but verify the odometer hasn't been rolled back (check service records and inspection-station logs in Peru).

San Isidro, Lima is a mid-sized Peru market for cars. You'll usually find a handful of comparable Kia Soul listings — meaning price discipline matters but buyer reach is wider than a major hub. Photograph the Soul in daylight and price within 3-5% of comparable active listings.

For an older Kia Soul like this one, prioritize: timing belt/chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Peru requires SOAT (or its local equivalent) — basic third-party liability included with annual registration. For a mid-tier Kia Soul, full-coverage private insurance on top usually runs 3-7% of the vehicle's market value per year. Quote with two or three carriers before listing day; rates vary widely by Lima.

Gasoline pricing in Peru is moderate. For this Soul, expect monthly fuel cost to scale roughly with kilometers driven and the manufacturer-rated economy minus 10-15% for real-world conditions.

This is a private-seller listing. For a mid-tier purchase like this Kia Soul, the buyer usually pre-arranges financing with their own bank or credit union — get pre-approval before contacting the seller. The seller will typically wait for funds to clear before signing over the title.

In Lima, Peru, you'll need the tarjeta de propiedad, the current SOAT certificate, technical-mechanical inspection (revisión técnico-mecánica) for vehicles older than the threshold, the contrato de compraventa, and the seller's cédula. The transit secretariat in San Isidro processes the transfer.

This is a private-seller listing — an individual selling their own Kia Soul, not a business. Treat it like any other person-to-person purchase: meet in a safe public location (a police-station parking lot is the gold standard), verify the seller's ID against the title before any money changes hands, and never wire funds before seeing the vehicle in person.

A 16+ year-old Kia Soul is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.

On a mid-tier listing in a mid-sized market like San Isidro, Lima, expect a 4-8% negotiation window. Sellers here have fewer competing listings to anchor against, so the listing's age and your readiness (cash in hand, financing pre-approved) carry more weight than aggressive pricing comparisons.

If the seller still owes a bank or finance company against this Kia Soul, the title has a lien recorded. Do NOT hand over funds before the lien is released. Standard practice in Peru: buyer's bank pays the lender directly for the loan balance and pays the seller for the remainder, with the lender's release letter arriving alongside the new title. Verify the lien status through whatever public registry Peru uses (DMV / DETRAN / Registro Civil / etc.) before agreeing to a purchase price.
