Frequently asked questions

This 1998 Nissan Pathfinder is 16+ years old, which moves it into project / collectible / hand-me-down territory. Pricing in this band has more to do with condition and rarity than age. Inspect for rust, frame integrity, and electrical wear — none of which the 1998 fuel-economy spec sheet will warn you about.

This listing falls in the typical mileage band for a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder (around 15-20k km/year). At average usage, expect normal-wear consumables to need attention — brakes, tires, fluids — but no major-component surprises if the service interval has been followed.

Soyapango, San Salvador is a smaller market — comparable Nissan Pathfinder listings are scarce, so this suv can carry a small premium for buyers who can't find local alternatives. Be transparent about condition; buyers who travel for a listing typically expect what they see in the photos.

For an older Nissan Pathfinder like this one, prioritize: timing belt/chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Insurance in El Salvador is a private-carrier market. For a mid-tier Nissan Pathfinder in San Salvador, expect 4-8% of the market value per year for full coverage. The biggest cost-driver is the city — Soyapango rates can be meaningfully higher than rural San Salvador for the same Nissan.

Gasoline pricing in El Salvador is moderate. For this Pathfinder, expect monthly fuel cost to scale roughly with kilometers driven and the manufacturer-rated economy minus 10-15% for real-world conditions.

This is a private-seller listing. For a mid-tier purchase like this Nissan Pathfinder, the buyer usually pre-arranges financing with their own bank or credit union — get pre-approval before contacting the seller. The seller will typically wait for funds to clear before signing over the title.

In San Salvador, El Salvador, you'll need the local title-equivalent paperwork, the seller's ID, and proof of any annual road-tax or circulation-permit payment. Verify the exact requirements with San Salvador's transit authority before listing day — they vary by province / state.

A 16+ year-old Nissan Pathfinder is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.

On a mid-tier listing in a smaller market like Soyapango, San Salvador, sellers often hold firmer on price because comparable Nissan Pathfinders are scarce. Lead with your timing (ready-to-buy) and your willingness to handle transfer paperwork — a frictionless transaction is sometimes worth a few percent to the seller.
