Nissan Sentra • 1998 • 292,000 km • $ 9300000 COP

This 1998 Nissan Sentra is 16+ years old, which moves it into project / collectible / hand-me-down territory. Pricing in this band has more to do with condition and rarity than age. Inspect for rust, frame integrity, and electrical wear — none of which the 1998 fuel-economy spec sheet will warn you about.

This listing falls in the typical mileage band for a 1998 Nissan Sentra (around 15-20k km/year). At average usage, expect normal-wear consumables to need attention — brakes, tires, fluids — but no major-component surprises if the service interval has been followed.

Pereira, Risaralda is a mid-sized Colombia market for sedans. You'll usually find a handful of comparable Nissan Sentra listings — meaning price discipline matters but buyer reach is wider than a major hub. Photograph the Sentra in daylight and price within 3-5% of comparable active listings.

For an older Nissan Sentra like this one, prioritize: timing belt/chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Colombia requires SOAT (or its local equivalent) — basic third-party liability included with annual registration. For a premium-tier Nissan Sentra, full-coverage private insurance on top usually runs 3-7% of the vehicle's market value per year. Quote with two or three carriers before listing day; rates vary widely by Risaralda.

Gasoline pricing in Colombia is moderate. For this Sentra, expect monthly fuel cost to scale roughly with kilometers driven and the manufacturer-rated economy minus 10-15% for real-world conditions.

This is a private-seller listing. For a premium-tier purchase like this Nissan Sentra, the buyer usually pre-arranges financing with their own bank or credit union — get pre-approval before contacting the seller. The seller will typically wait for funds to clear before signing over the title.

In Risaralda, Colombia, you'll need the tarjeta de propiedad, the current SOAT certificate, technical-mechanical inspection (revisión técnico-mecánica) for vehicles older than the threshold, the contrato de compraventa, and the seller's cédula. The transit secretariat in Pereira processes the transfer.

This is a private-seller listing — an individual selling their own Nissan Sentra, not a business. Treat it like any other person-to-person purchase: meet in a safe public location (a police-station parking lot is the gold standard), verify the seller's ID against the title before any money changes hands, and never wire funds before seeing the vehicle in person.

A 16+ year-old Nissan Sentra is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.

On a premium-tier listing, negotiation room varies more by the seller's hold-time than by buyer pressure. Ask when the listing went live — anything past 30 days usually means the seller is open to a 7-10% reduction. Also inspect service records: missing entries are a legitimate price-reduction lever.

If the seller still owes a bank or finance company against this Nissan Sentra, the title has a lien recorded. Do NOT hand over funds before the lien is released. Standard practice in Colombia: buyer's bank pays the lender directly for the loan balance and pays the seller for the remainder, with the lender's release letter arriving alongside the new title. Verify the lien status through whatever public registry Colombia uses (DMV / DETRAN / Registro Civil / etc.) before agreeing to a purchase price.
