Frequently asked questions

This 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser is 16+ years old, which moves it into project / collectible / hand-me-down territory. Pricing in this band has more to do with condition and rarity than age. Inspect for rust, frame integrity, and electrical wear — none of which the 1982 fuel-economy spec sheet will warn you about.

This listing is above the typical mileage band for a 1982 Toyota — most Land Cruisers of this age sit around 15-20k km/year. High-mileage doesn't disqualify the Land Cruiser but does mean major service items (timing components, suspension, clutch on manuals) are likely due. Price should reflect that.

Caracas, Capital is a smaller market — comparable Toyota Land Cruiser listings are scarce, so this wagon can carry a small premium for buyers who can't find local alternatives. Be transparent about condition; buyers who travel for a listing typically expect what they see in the photos.

For an older Toyota Land Cruiser like this one, prioritize: timing belt/chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Insurance in Venezuela is a private-carrier market. For a mid-tier Toyota Land Cruiser in Capital, expect 4-8% of the market value per year for full coverage. The biggest cost-driver is the city — Caracas rates can be meaningfully higher than rural Capital for the same Toyota.

Gasoline is relatively cheap in Venezuela, so monthly fuel cost on this Land Cruiser is rarely the headline expense. Other line items — insurance, registration renewal, tires — usually outweigh it.

This is a private-seller listing. For a mid-tier purchase like this Toyota Land Cruiser, the buyer usually pre-arranges financing with their own bank or credit union — get pre-approval before contacting the seller. The seller will typically wait for funds to clear before signing over the title.

In Capital, Venezuela, you'll need the local title-equivalent paperwork, the seller's ID, and proof of any annual road-tax or circulation-permit payment. Verify the exact requirements with Capital's transit authority before listing day — they vary by province / state.

A 16+ year-old Toyota Land Cruiser is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.

On a mid-tier listing in a smaller market like Caracas, Capital, sellers often hold firmer on price because comparable Toyota Land Cruisers are scarce. Lead with your timing (ready-to-buy) and your willingness to handle transfer paperwork — a frictionless transaction is sometimes worth a few percent to the seller.
