Frequently asked questions

This 2014 Toyota Highlander is 8-15 years old — value-priced daily-driver territory. Mechanical condition matters far more than cosmetics at this age. Ask for the most recent timing-belt/chain interval, suspension work, and any major repairs. A documented one-owner Highlander in this range is a stronger buy than a higher-trim with unknown history.

This listing is below the typical mileage band for a 2014 Toyota — most Highlanders of this age show closer to 15-20k km/year. Low mileage is a price-supporting attribute but verify the odometer hasn't been rolled back (check service records and inspection-station logs in Nigeria).

Ikeja, Lagos is a smaller market — comparable Toyota Highlander listings are scarce, so this suv can carry a small premium for buyers who can't find local alternatives. Be transparent about condition; buyers who travel for a listing typically expect what they see in the photos.

For an older Toyota Highlander like this one, prioritize: timing belt/chain interval (ask for the last replacement receipt), suspension bushings and shocks, brake-fluid condition, transmission service history, and rust on the rocker panels and subframe. A pre-purchase inspection at an independent shop pays for itself many times over at this age.

Insurance in Nigeria is a private-carrier market. For a premium-tier Toyota Highlander in Lagos, expect 4-8% of the market value per year for full coverage. The biggest cost-driver is the city — Ikeja rates can be meaningfully higher than rural Lagos for the same Toyota.

Gasoline pricing in Nigeria is moderate. For this Highlander, expect monthly fuel cost to scale roughly with kilometers driven and the manufacturer-rated economy minus 10-15% for real-world conditions.

This is a private-seller listing. For a premium-tier purchase like this Toyota Highlander, the buyer usually pre-arranges financing with their own bank or credit union — get pre-approval before contacting the seller. The seller will typically wait for funds to clear before signing over the title.

In Lagos, Nigeria, you'll need the original title signed over by the seller, a bill of sale, a current emissions / safety inspection where required by Lagos, a VIN-match verification, and proof of insurance to take possession. The state DMV or motor-vehicle agency processes the transfer; many do it the same day.

Low kilometers for a Toyota Highlander of this year preserves resale value meaningfully — buyers in Nigeria actively search by mileage filter. Each thousand kilometers added to the odometer between now and a future sale shaves a small but measurable amount off the next asking price.
