Frequently asked questions

This 2007 Citroën Xsara is 16+ years old, which moves it into project / collectible / hand-me-down territory. Pricing in this band has more to do with condition and rarity than age. Inspect for rust, frame integrity, and electrical wear — none of which the 2007 fuel-economy spec sheet will warn you about.

This listing is below the typical mileage band for a 2007 Citroën — most Xsaras of this age show closer to 15-20k km/year. Low mileage is a price-supporting attribute but verify the odometer hasn't been rolled back (check service records and inspection-station logs in Spain).

Ubrique, Andalusia has one of the deeper Spain markets for cars. Comparable Citroën Xsara listings here usually number in the dozens, so buyers can be picky. Price competitively, photograph thoroughly, and respond to messages within a few hours — listings that don't get fast replies fall out of saved-search results in this market.

For this diesel Citroën Xsara, focus on DPF (diesel particulate filter) condition and any history of regen-cycle issues — short-trip diesels often clog DPFs early. Also check EGR cleanliness, turbocharger play, and injector codes via OBD-II. Diesel auxiliary equipment (glow plugs, fuel filter) wears on a schedule independent of the engine.

Insurance in Spain is a private-carrier market. For a entry-tier Citroën Xsara in Andalusia, expect 4-8% of the market value per year for full coverage. The biggest cost-driver is the city — Ubrique rates can be meaningfully higher than rural Andalusia for the same Citroën.

Diesel fuel in Spain typically runs near or just under gasoline. This Xsara's real advantage is fuel economy on long highway runs — for short-trip city use, a diesel's break-even versus a gasoline equivalent is many years out.

In Andalusia, Spain, you'll need the local title-equivalent paperwork, the seller's ID, and proof of any annual road-tax or circulation-permit payment. Verify the exact requirements with Andalusia's transit authority before listing day — they vary by province / state.

A 16+ year-old Citroën Xsara is past its depreciation trough — pricing from here is condition-driven, not age-driven. Documented examples of desirable trims can appreciate; rough examples stay flat or depreciate as parts availability tightens. Set the price by recent comparable sold prices, not by asking prices.

If the seller still owes a bank or finance company against this Citroën Xsara, the title has a lien recorded. Do NOT hand over funds before the lien is released. Standard practice in Spain: buyer's bank pays the lender directly for the loan balance and pays the seller for the remainder, with the lender's release letter arriving alongside the new title. Verify the lien status through whatever public registry Spain uses (DMV / DETRAN / Registro Civil / etc.) before agreeing to a purchase price.
